This was the first major event organised by SHA in 1990. The extravaganza was very popular with displays of Archery and entertainment through the ages with jugglers and musicians to name but a few of the sights
This project started in 1997 and has successfully been working with local young people for 25 years.
SHA represented the community on the PLP for ten years. The work of the PLP is now being continued by Team London Bridge, Potters Fields Management Trust & Tower Hill Management Group.
In 1998 SHA worked with Education Action Zone to organise and produce a discount passport for North Southwark attractions with a list of participating attractions.
Another SHA initiative was to open the borough’s first T.I.C. from a shop (Currently Cafe Nero’s) at St. Mary Overie dock. In 1999 we relocated to premises in Hay’s Galleria and renamed it the Pool of London and Southwark Heritage centre. The Guildable Manor officiated at the opening.
In 2000, Southwark Young Pilgrims broke gound at the building site for the GOL building with the architect Sir Norman Foster. Things look a little different today!
